Zoetis has successfully raised $100,000 for the Beyond Blue Support Service, continuing its efforts to support mental health initiatives and reduce stigma surrounding mental illness within the veterinary industry. Since partnering with Beyond Blue in 2016, Zoetis has contributed a total of $900,000 to the charity by donating $5 from each sale of its vaccines and parasiticides products.
Lance Williams, Zoetis Senior Vice President for Australia and New Zealand, emphasized that the partnership extends beyond financial support. “Zoetis works closely with vet practices around Australia. We are passionate about improving mental health and are proud to partner with Beyond Blue to support the important work they do,” he said.
The veterinary profession faces several challenges, including poor work-life balance, high occupational conflict, emotional and moral challenges, and financial stressors. These factors contribute to burnout and deteriorating mental health among Australian veterinarians and their nursing staff.
The funds raised through Zoetis’s donations are crucial in sustaining Beyond Blue’s 24/7 mental health support services. These services provide immediate counseling, advice, and referrals to those in need. Thanks to Zoetis’s ongoing contributions, more than 15,500 individuals have received the support they require.
