Limited Edition Shirt Launched to Support Farmer Mental Health

by Daphne Watson

CARLOW, Ireland — Ballybar Ireland has unveiled a limited edition ‘Moove’ shirt to raise funds and awareness for mental health in the agricultural sector, with a portion of proceeds going directly to support Macra’s Make the Moove initiative.

The initiative follows the success of last year’s “Take a Break” coffee morning at Coppenagh House Farm in County Carlow, which raised over €2,000 for Make the Moove. The coffee morning was sparked by the recognition of how harsh winter weather and relentless working conditions were impacting the mental health of farmers across Ireland.

Designed to continue the conversation around wellbeing in rural communities, the Ballybar Moove shirt comes in a rich denim-inspired hue and is accented with a smart navy contrast on the collar and cuffs. But more than just fashion, each shirt sold helps provide critical mental health resources to farmers through Macra’s established support channels.

“We knew we wanted to do more,” said Stanley, founder of Ballybar Ireland. “And what better way than through something we know — and that our customers love and trust — our Ballybar shirts.”

Stanley, who also runs her own business, understands the emotional strain many in the farming and entrepreneurial communities face.

“Running a business can often feel like a series of highs and lows — questioning yourself, worrying about the next step, wondering if you’re doing enough. It’s a reminder that asking for help, or simply reaching out, is not a weakness but a real strength.”

“Through this shirt, we hope to keep that conversation going and remind people that they are never alone — whether in farming, in business, or in life,” she added.

The Ballybar Moove shirt is strictly limited edition, with no restocks planned, making it both a meaningful and collectible item. It not only offers a stylish addition to any wardrobe but also serves as a visible symbol of solidarity with the farming community and a commitment to destigmatizing mental health conversations in agriculture.

For those interested in supporting the cause, the shirt is available now while stocks last.
