LOS ANGELES — TadHealth, a rising leader in school-based mental health technology, announced today the closing of a $5.5 million Series A funding round aimed at scaling its services and expanding access to mental health resources for students across the nation.
Led by a seasoned group of healthcare and education investors, the funding round brings strategic support to TadHealth’s mission to transform how mental health services are delivered and reimbursed in K-12 schools. Joining the company’s board are high-profile leaders, including Robin Richards, Sabrina Horn, and neuropsychiatrist Dr. Jim Hudziak.
Dr. Hudziak, a globally recognized clinician-scientist with over three decades of experience in brain health and youth mental wellness, emphasized the urgency of addressing the growing mental health crisis in schools.
“The youth mental health crisis in our school communities nationwide is an urgent challenge, and TadHealth is leading the way in delivering scalable, effective solutions for students, educators, and families,” said Dr. Hudziak. “We are proud to support TadHealth’s vision and believe in its potential to redefine how mental health services are accessed and reimbursed in educational settings.”
Bridging Mental Health Gaps in K-12 Education
Founded in 2018, TadHealth was born out of a deeply personal mission: CEO Ben Greiner’s struggle to find timely mental health support for a family member in crisis. That experience helped shape TadHealth’s commitment to ensuring students have access to the right resources—at the right time.
“At TadHealth, we believe every student deserves easy access to mental health support,” said Greiner. “This funding will help us expand our reach and empower schools to provide the care students need when they need it most. We’re building a platform that not only supports students’ well-being but also relieves the pressure on school counselors and mental health professionals.”
Despite rising mental health needs, one in three students still doesn’t know where to turn for help. TadHealth aims to close this gap through an integrated platform that connects students with mental health resources and enables schools to deliver services more effectively.
Momentum from Early Investors and Partners
TadHealth’s early growth was fueled by a $1.6 million initial round of funding, backed by Halcyon Venture Partners, USC Viterbi School of Engineering Venture Fund, Halcyon Angels, and RevFund. The company was originally incubated at the USC Viterbi Startup Garage and has since matured into a scalable healthcare SaaS enterprise.
With the new Series A investment, TadHealth plans to accelerate product development, deepen its presence in the K-12 education market, and integrate Medicaid reimbursement functionality—an important step toward building sustainable school-based mental health infrastructure.
As mental health challenges among youth continue to surge, the demand for innovative, scalable solutions grows more urgent. TadHealth’s expansion marks a pivotal step toward ensuring that schools are not only aware of the crisis—but equipped to act.
