BRAINERD — The community is invited to take part in the fourth annual 5K for Mental Health Awareness, scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at Central Lakes College’s Brainerd campus. A 1-mile walk option will also be available for participants.
Co-hosted by Central Lakes College (CLC) and Crow Wing Energized, the event aims to raise awareness about the importance of mental health in the community. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen and the Central Lakes College Food Pantry, supporting local initiatives that provide vital resources to those in need.
The 5K race will start and finish at CLC’s Brainerd campus, where participants can also visit a community resource fair. The fair will showcase local mental health support services and organizations, offering attendees valuable information on mental health resources available in the area.
Race awards will be presented around 10 a.m., recognizing the top male, top female, and overall nonbinary finisher. All participants will receive a commemorative finisher sticker to celebrate their involvement in this important cause.
