CARSON CITY, Nev. — The Rotary Club of Carson City will address the pressing issue of youth mental health at its upcoming meeting, featuring a presentation by Kitty McKay, Vice President of Community and Patient Experience at Carson Tahoe Health.

The meeting, open to the public, is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, at noon in the Grand Ballroom of the Brewery Arts Center, located at 449 West King Street.

McKay will provide insight into the mental health challenges facing young people in the region, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

“Like no time in our shared history, people throughout the nation, and especially in Northern Nevada, are experiencing a mental health crisis,” McKay stated. “While this is affecting adults, the impact on our kids has become acute.”

In response, Carson Tahoe Health is launching a new initiative aimed at addressing these challenges.

“Our community needs bold, collaborative, and comprehensive action. Carson Tahoe Health is rolling out a robust path forward called the Healing Our Kids Crusade, with the goal of shifting the dire trajectory of juvenile mental health issues,” McKay explained.

As Vice President of Community and Patient Experience, McKay oversees community engagement, fundraising, communications, population health, patient experience, and a team of 120 volunteers. Her leadership is central to Carson Tahoe Health’s efforts to provide meaningful solutions to the growing youth mental health crisis.
