The City of Noblesville has donated $50,000 to the Noblesville Schools Education Foundation (NSEF) to expand its Mental Health Support Fund, a critical resource aimed at providing additional counseling services for both students and staff. This donation comes at a time when mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and stress, are rising within the school community.

The Mental Health Support Fund plays a vital role in helping Noblesville Schools community members access professional counseling services. School officials emphasized the increasing demand for mental health support, underscoring the importance of providing the resources needed to address these growing concerns.

Adriann Young, CEO and President of NSEF, highlighted the ongoing need for mental health resources, noting that these services are consistently identified as a top priority by school leaders. “When we ask school leaders where NSEF funding can best support them, mental health resources consistently rank as a top area of need,” Young stated. “By eliminating financial barriers to accessing professional care, we’re ensuring that everyone in our school community can receive the full mental health support to support their success in school.”

Julie Thacker, the Executive Director of Student Services at Noblesville Schools, expressed her gratitude for the support from both the City of Noblesville and NSEF. “Our community is uniquely fortunate to have a partnership like this,” Thacker said. “This invaluable support allows students and staff members to access the mental health provider of their choice and receive reimbursement for those services.”

The funding will benefit a range of initiatives aimed at supporting mental well-being, such as:

Individual reimbursement support to assist with the cost of external counseling services and transportation to mental health appointments.

Wellness initiatives designed specifically for school staff to help them manage their own mental health.

Support for multilingual counseling initiatives to ensure that all students, regardless of their language background, can access the help they need.

Noblesville Mayor Chris Jensen praised the Mental Health Support Fund, emphasizing its alignment with the city’s broader goals of supporting the health and well-being of the community. “The Mental Health Support Fund aligns with the mission and focus of our administration to support the health and well-being of our community, which includes prioritizing mental health,” Jensen remarked. “Our community is better and stronger when resources are easily accessible to all who need them. I look forward to the positive impact this fund will continue to have on our students, teachers, and the community.”

The donation marks a significant step forward in ensuring that mental health support is readily available to those who need it, providing a lasting positive impact on the Noblesville Schools community.
