PRAIRIEVILLE, La. — Prairieville High School has received a $1,000 grant from the Joe Burrow Foundation to host a World Teen Mental Health Awareness Day event on March 14.
According to a school social media post, senior class president Caroline Palmer and her English teacher applied for the grant. The event is being organized in collaboration with the student council, the Interact Club, and the Be the Change Club.
As part of the initiative, green ribbons and mental health resources will be distributed to students, while relaxation stations will be set up in the school library to promote mental wellness.
The Joe Burrow Foundation encourages students in grades 7-12 from greater Baton Rouge and southeast Ohio to develop and participate in activities for the awareness day, according to the foundation’s website. The annual observance aims to highlight the mental health challenges faced by teenagers, promote well-being, and explore potential solutions.
