March 7-9 Event Canceled, Refunds Issued to Ticket Holders

[Location] — CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health has announced the cancellation of its highly anticipated “Crisis Point: Emerging from a Mental Health Epidemic” conference, which was scheduled to take place from March 7 to 9.

According to Meg Strunk, the director of development for the nonprofit organization, the decision to cancel the conference was driven by lower-than-expected ticket sales. All individuals who had purchased tickets for the event have been issued full refunds.

New Behavioral Health Speaker Series in the Works

Despite the setback, CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health is already planning a new initiative to address mental health challenges. Strunk shared that the organization is in the process of establishing a Behavioral Health Speaker Series. The series will feature some of the speakers who were initially scheduled to present at the now-canceled conference.

“We are currently in touch with the speakers to identify dates when they may be able to join us throughout the year,” Strunk explained.

The upcoming series will be held at the Mary Francis Bachmann School, and the dates for the events will be announced as they are finalized. This new initiative aims to continue the important conversation surrounding mental health and provide valuable resources for the community.

While the cancellation of the conference may be disappointing, the organization’s shift toward a more flexible, ongoing series demonstrates its commitment to addressing the mental health needs of the community throughout the year.
